After the great success of the first World Cup in 1975, England once again played host and reached the final against holders the West Indies. The 1999 Cricket World Cup was won by Australia, who beat Pakistan by 8 wickets at Lord's Cricket Ground in London.
The 2003 World Cup was won by Ricky Ponting's Australia who defeated Sourav Ganguly's India in the final.
The 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup was Australia defeating Sri Lanka in the final to win their third consecutive World Cup.
